Houseguests, ahoy!
Oct. 3rd, 2002 12:40 pmMy houseguests should be arriving within the hour or so, so you can't all be hearing form me much the next few days, though I'll try to pop in for the Friday Five.
For the last two days I have had "Creature of the Night" plaguing my poor little brain. When I dared to mention this to my father, he told me I was obsessed. I was like, huh? He insisted that thoughts that keep repeating in an endless pattern are obsessions. Actions that keep repeating themselves are compulsions. All very well, but he told me this in a smug fashion, as if to say that he has never in his life had a song running through his head.
For the most part, though, I should mention, my Dad's been sort of lost and helpless since the dog died last week. He's starting to pull out of it, but if he has to recount the events of the last day of the dog's life, he's still apt to break down. sigh
I worry about him. I want them to get a new dog, but both my parents keep telling me it's too soon to think about it much yet. Soon, I hope.
